Does it work on carpets?

No — wet dry vacuums are built for sealed hard floors: tile, vinyl, laminate, sealed wood, and similar surfaces. Carpets need a carpet cleaner or a regular vacuum; this category replaces the mop, not the carpet machine.

Is it really better than a spray mop?

The difference is the dirty water: a spray mop pushes the same water around your floor, while a wet dry vacuum picks the solution (and the loose debris) up into a tank in one pass. Sticky messes and pet footprints are where the gap is widest.

How messy is the upkeep?

Less than a mop: the brush roller cleans itself in its dock after runs, and you empty and rinse one tank. The whole routine is a minute or two at the sink.

What it is

A wet dry vacuum is a floor washer: it lays down clean water, scrubs, and vacuums the dirty solution back into one tank in a single pass over sealed hard floors. The brush roller cleans itself after runs, which is most of why people stop going back to bucket-and-mop.

Who it fits

Anyone tired of bucket-and-mop — one pass vacuums and washes sealed hard floors; see the full comparison.
Anyone who wants the boring spec-sheet homework done — the details are compared on this page so you don't have to open ten tabs.

Care

Run the self-cleaning cycle after messy sessions, let the brush roller dry before storing, and rinse the dirty tank after each use — the filter stays out of the machine to dry too.

Godsend for pets
"The main reason I bought, this was just to have an all-in-one vacuum and mopping solution because I only have hard floors. However, I have found it to be the best thing ever for dealing with pet throw up. I have a cat who has a se…"

Poor Customer Service
"I’m only giving one star due to their customer service. I purchased an S7 12/25 it works great with the exception of stuck on things on the floor. Recently a 1/4 inch pice broke on the handle near the bottom of the machine that helps the handle stay in an upright position. Upon contacting Tineco and…"

Where it sits in the lineup

Within the Tineco wetdry family, this Cordless is mid-priced at $449.00. Siblings for comparison: at $299.00, Cordless at $299.99, at $379.00 and more. Same construction across sizes — the price moves with the footprint, so the real decision is your bed size, not the model.
